Founded
in the 79th year of the Republic of China, the department is one of the key
departments of Yishou University (formerly Kaohsiung Institute of Technology),
which added a two-year on-the-job technical class in 86 and stopped recruiting
in 90, established a bachelor's class in 91, a master's class in 94, and a
master's class in 95. In order to meet the national development goals and meet
the needs of the industry, the department was formerly known as the Department
of Mechanical Engineering, and since the 92nd academic year, it has been
renamed the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering. At present, it
recruits master's programs in graduate schools, university departments and
advanced education departments every year. There are a total of 14 teachers,
including 6 full-time professors and doctors, 7 full-time associate professors
and doctors, and 1 lecturer and master. The current head of the department is
Professor Liu Fangbao.
Teaching and research features
Machinery
is the mother of industry, and the Department of Mechanical and Automation
Engineering focuses on the teaching and experimentation of mechanical theory,
supplemented by practical courses, and emphasizes computer application
technology, automatic control and system integration. The Department of
Mechanical Engineering aims to cultivate mechanical, electromechanical, and
innovative design, and to train intelligent mechanical talents with equal
emphasis on theory and practice. The course covers the fields of smart
machinery such as green energy, electric vehicles, drone development, 3D
printing technology and Industry 4.0. This department has an excellent career
path after graduation, and it is the best choice for you to find employment and
further study. The Department focuses on the teaching and experimentation of
mechanical theory, supplemented by practical courses, with an emphasis on
computer application technology, automatic control and system integration. To
enable students in this department to combine mechanical, electromechanical,
design, control technology and related fields to become excellent mechanical
and electrical talents. At present, the Department has set
six teaching priorities: "Innovative Design",
"Precision Manufacturing Technology",
"Mechatronics Systems", "Automatic Control Technology", "Green Energy Technology Development" and "Advanced Materials Technology". The development
focus of the department is to focus on six areas: confidential manufacturing
technology, computer application technology, advanced control technology,
mechatronic integration system, energy technology development and advanced materials.
Research results
This
department has passed the IEET Engineering Education Certification" and
the "Higher Education Center Department Evaluation". This department
has implemented various talent training programs of the Ministry of Education,
the Vocational Training Bureau, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In
addition, teachers and students of this department participate in a number of
domestic and foreign research and industry-university internship programs.
Cooperation partners include the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, Industrial Research Institute, Metal Research and
Development Center, TSMC, UMC, China Steel, Yelian, Yehui, and ASE , Yageo and
other well-known research teams and manufacturers.
Future development strategy (CDIO)
Machinery
is the mother of industry and an indispensable industry for the development of
the overall economy. Today's precision machinery industry is no longer a
"black hand" industry, but a "gold" industry and a basic
industry. Looking around the world, the mechanical field is not in decline and
is also the focus of scientific and technological development in advanced
countries. In other words, machinery is indispensable for high-tech research
and development. If my country's high-tech industry wants to upgrade its
technology, it absolutely needs mechanical talents. The way out for machinery
is actually infinitely broad.
Future Development Strategy
Smart Design and Manufacturing Center
The Smart Design and Manufacturing Center
is a basic Internet of Things (IOT) architecture and a teaching platform to
guide students into Industry 4.0. In addition to improving practical teaching
and innovative teaching, it also provides relevant departments with
manufacturing platforms for teaching, research and development, management,
etc. flexible applications. The factory is mainly divided into two areas, the
flexible smart manufacturing center and the large CNC machine tool.
